Don't think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. It's self conscious, and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can't try to do things. You simply must do things. -Ray Bradbury

Death
creeping around
hungry for souls
searching for ending life
like a lioness searches
for a wounded gazelle
Death
cloaked in a never ending shade of darkness
hidden by the broken hearts
and dead souls
of the people it has slung over its shoulder
like a sack of potatoes
Death
Breaking in and stealing
the empty body of loved ones too soon
A criminal that cannot be stopped
not by the best of detectives
or the strongest of wills
Death
Knocking at my door
I have no choice
but to invite it in
for an afternoon tea

The author's comments:
Death is a topic that really intrigues me, the fact that it is almost as common as the air we breathe, yet we know so little about it.
