"I have promises to keep/And miles to go before I sleep" Robert Frost

It’s a boardwalk carousel of he said she
And she’s cutting patterns of
Paper doll dreams

It’s a spinning motion of lost fantasies
And you can’t catch them
No matter how far you reach

It’s the sensation of falling
A bottle on a beach
With a message she wrote
Of her hopes and dreams

But he threw it back out
To be swallowed in the deep
Where it spins in the current
Lies that we speak

But it gasps for air and the bubbles
Tell truths for the surface
Like the birds that fly over (is it worth it?)

But like birds we are simpler than we seem
And we sit in cages of our own self-esteem
Wishing she and he were a thing unreached
