Suffering
Like the window to my soul
She is there
Looking into me.
She says:
Suffering is a part of it.
Her breath like her words
Are smothering me.
She says:
Like the rain
Suffering will come
And after
There will be a calmness,
A clean calm.
With hands as cold and as white as the mountain snow.
Touching your eyes
Holding them down.
She says:
Without suffering,
There is always a blindness.

"As I hide behind these books I read, while scribbling my poetry,
like art could save a wretch like me, with some ideal ideology that no one can hope to achieve.
And I am never real; it is just a sketch of me.
And everything I made is trite and cheap and a waste of paint, of tape, of time." - Bright Eyes
