Goodbyes
You sit there
On the edge of your bed
Thoughts coursing through your brain
Broken friendships
Broken promises
Broken heart.
Every day it’s the same
The memories flash before your eyes
Rejection, embarrassment, and pain
Then you start to reconsider, maybe someone does care
But you remember that even the people you love most
Still bring you down.
So who cares?
Obviously no one does
But you.
You cry and quiver
Gun in hand
Remembering all you’ve lost
And the little you have to gain
If you stay.
In the end it’s up to you
The ball is in your court
Are you really ready?
Are you ready to give up?
To lay down your life
Because of the torment.
To show them what they’ve done.
