my pain
I cried out as the pain engulfed my senses.
Like fire was in my veins instead of blood.
The place in my heart welled up until it was overflowing.
My hands were wet.
i showed nothing on the surface.
But if you looked closer you could see the cracks.
They pulsed and throbbed like a scar.
I was warm but I felt so cold.
I was not tall enough to reach for the stars.
I was not fit enough to run in the Olympics.
I was not wealthy enough for their ideals.
But I didn’t let that stop me.
It made me stronger.
