After the Storm
We are all but leaves on the tree of life
Falling off when fate decides
Hoping that the wind takes us to a better place
Floating away, fearing for what comes next
Pain and sadness rains from the sky
The yelling of thunder and lightning pierces the air
Darkness begins to cloud our vision
The ground embraces us, and invites us to stay
But then a ray of light shines from above
The vast oceanic sky clears its eyes
The wind starts to pick up again
Lifting us up, caring us on its shoulders
A warm feeling comes over us all
And for once we are truly home.
