Why couldn’t I
Have been a tree?
Then I would have only had
To simply grow and be.
Life as a tree;
It would be so simple
And free.
I would grow so tall
And be so full of beauty.
I would keep your secrets
And save them in my leaves.
I would give you a place
To live and hide safely.
Why couldn’t I
Have been a tree?
