I Didn't Know Him
I didn’t know him and I didn’t care to
And Now he’s disappeared
Gone with the wind and scattered across the horizon
His ashes are spread
They disperse on the land and fall in the river
And the people cry
The people weep around me and fall to their knees
I hear them yearn
They pray for him and they pray for themselves
I feel as if I’ve missed out
Like I’ve failed to notice an amazing person and there’ll never be another
Just when I think have it figured out
When I think I know what happened and everything fell right
That’s when I discerned it
I noticed they weren’t praying for him
