For your convenience,
I wrote this poem on the bus ride here
so I had something to tell you if you'd open up & hear.
For your convenience,
I took the time out to place myself here
just so I could entertain & maybe you could cheer.
For your convenience,
I tucked my septum ring up in my nostrils
that way you don't see me as some hoodlum or someone hostile.
For your convenience,
I wore this shirt so I didn't look so pregnant simply
because we wouldn't want another black teen mom running around now would we?
For your convenience,
I've decided to hide the ring that's in my tongue
some people think I'm conveying some sort of taboo
but I like it just as a piercing its not nearly as permanent as a tattoo.
For your convenience,
I've decided to shut this poem down
because I'm actually pretty self conscious about what I write now.
