Wet with the juices of rhythm and blues
a man walks up on stage
 flips a page or two
looks out soulfully at one spot
 its hot in here now
 as he begins to speak
not a creak comes from the wood floor
 people left barely breathing
 reeling
 familiar words but nothing cliche
 word play original
 subliminal
he's got us wet with the juices of rhythm and blues
 you
looking right in to your eyes
 surprised
 he's speaking only to me
 I see
the picture his words so eloquently form
 reborn
 as he speaks
 a beat
 that flows
 goes
like a shiver through the crowd
 not loud
no way could we say a word
 if his voice unheard
 for a moment went
 repent from sin
He's got us wet with the juices of rhythm and blues
