Jamie
Although I was but a passerby
My heart can't help but cry
 If only you had realised
To how many people you were idealised.

If a hug could have changed your mind
Then forever we would have stayed entwined
And if a simple "hello" could have brightened your day
I'd have sent a thousand words your way.

The pain amongst us does not compare
To the daily sufferings against which you had to fare
Yet your love, determination and pride
Were far too strong to hide.

I cannot fathom the thought that your face
Will no longer in our school halls illuminate
Nor that we never had the chance to meet
Before God swept you off your feet.

Although I never managed to say goodbye,
For not once did we even say hi
Long may your soul live in peace among us
Like all of the other loved ones lost.
