Friend So Dear

It takes a tragedy to realize
Just how precious life is
It hits you hard when it’s someone so dear
You get the call that they are in the hospital
With no explanation
As death flashes before your eyes
Her organs are shutting down
I know how much I care
She is more than another person
She is a great friend
That I love very much
I am grateful for her life
It should have been taken that night
God sent her a guardian angel
Today she is alive
I can’t thank God enough for saving her life
Life is such a gift
