Memories
You walk through the sand
Breathing in the spray.
Humming a long forgotten tune.
While the horses
Gallop in the waves.
You dig your toes into
The cold rough sand
As the tide erodes it around you.
You inhale then release
A puff of warm
in the cold gray sky.
You observe the way you have come
And the way you must go
Both ways hold perfect serenity
Unbreached by the footprints
You though you left.
Nothing is forever
Even the footprints of greatness must fade.
