My Poison Cup
So clear and so fine
So undetectable
Not able to notice
The secret you are hiding
The one that saves lives
Or causes them to end
Guess what?
I know who you are
My poison cup
So lovely and nice
No where near malicious
If only the eye could see
Far down into your soul
And see what you keeping from me
What you want no one to know
Is the little secret you told me?
That you are my poison cup
How so inviting?
So sweet smelling; divine
Tempting, it is to me
Just one sip, and may I stay alive?
Not a fair advantage
How many years do you have on me?
You're smarter, I'll admit it
But I'm stronger, that's the truth
It takes all the strength I have
To knock over that poison cup
Poison causes death
And death makes people sad
You'll be attending some funerals
Of people who did nothing wrong
They only followed your advice
On what and not to do
I guess one of the things you instructed
Was to drink from a poison cup
Poison is a drug
That removes me from this world
I just want the smallest taste
Without having to say goodbye
Not given to me now
Nor will it ever be
I trusted in you, my darling
To insure my safety
That's the opposite
Of feeding me a poison cup
This game of yours will never end
Not until you've won
Go around
Murder some innocents
Like me, plus one, plus five
I never stood a chance
None of us ever did
Just another one of your victims
Drinking from that poison cup
