The heat from my tears,
Caressing my cheek with utmost care,
Is the closest thing I've had;
To the warmth of love.
The way my heart pounds against my ribcage,
When anxiety draws near,
Is the closest thing I've had;
To the flutters of adoration.
The emptiness that tears at my soul,
Slowly dragging its nails across the underside of my skin,
Is the closest thing I've had;
To the longing of someone.
Anyone.
