You said I was to young,
to fend for myself,
you said I would always be your little girl,
but you were never there to notice
You said my life was going to be full,
but its half empty.
You said that you would never leave,but I was never there to notice.
Mum said you were a dream, but you are my father who created me.
You would rock me in your arm's.
But now they are empty.
You said I needed protected, but protected from what?
You are my dad but a stranger some days. Stranger's are friends to me.
I will know you someday,
but.

This really strikes a chord with me. My parents were never there for me, and I fended for myself half the time. It's AMAZING.
