Veterans Day
The Cry of War
I know that someday the war will end,
But who knew,
That it would last this long.
I spend my nights,
Praying,
Hoping,
That someday he will return.
But no,
He won’t, will he?
Doubt swarms my mind.
Where will I find my happiness?
I know it isn’t in war!
I shouldn’t have let him go,
My love being too strong.
Never let him go,
Why’d I let him go?
Thank You
Thank you,
For giving your life,
Time,
And devotion.
This beautiful country’s fate,
Has rested in the palm of your hands.
You came in a time of need,
And have risked your life,
To keep us united.
On this day,
We thank all of you;
Men
Women
Veterans.
Thank you
For your fight,
Courage,
And devotion,
Against this evil thing we call
War.
Thank you.
The Fight
A blow of the gun,
A last wisp of breath,
“Man down!”
Sprint and hide,
Hid and sprint.
The trigger is pulled,
And a bullet flies through the air,
Cutting a path,
And hitting its target.
The fight isn’t over,
And wont be over,
For a
Very
Long
Time.
One man down,
Thousands to
Go.
