A Creed
Human hearts are holy to me
So much more sacred to me than any seer’s god up above
You and I can dance and laugh in the rain
And isn’t that special enough?
Maybe there’s more, maybe not
Would it be so bad if this is all we get?
Twisting, turning souls like birds concentric
One within all and all within one
Singing out what we wish to sing
Living tragedies so sad it hurts
Making blood flow that is so painful it’s beautiful
Committing kindness so mighty it makes me cry
Tell me that this isn’t something special, that it’s subservient
To something else, bowing to the breaking will of more
Maybe that’s true, but maybe not…
Lips and eyes and fingertips can do so, so much
Don’t you believe in them, too?
