Wallflower Season MAG

The Crack in the wall
slithers and slides to the floor
I lose myself in the foundation
between me and the next room
A crack just big enough for flitting insects
A crack just big enough for thudding music
where kids dance within the bass
I stare at this crack
and imagine myself soaking
through the wall

Invisible
running through the music

Invisible
In that room I can only be

Invisible
A flower in paisley patterns plastered to the wall
So I pry my imagination
from the music
and sponge it from that wall
Smiling to myself at the thought of moving
Just sitting on my chair
Staring at the crack
Watching the music chase the bugs away.

Wow. I love this. I'm OBSESSED with figurative language and I was so excited to see someone use it so beautiful.

This poem paints a picture for only the most intimate part to see. It talks about being invisible but it stands out more than words could express. I love it.
