Dear Bird

Hippiechick10

Dear Bird, my friend
My lone fantasy
How you spread your wings
O’er me
The dawn but breaks with a withering sigh
But you, my bird
Embrace the sky

I long to be
One with
The stars
Open my heart
Before humanity scars

Dear bird, why does unknown
Beauty
Leap beyond my reach?
I can only find the passion
From above
Or beneath

No beach could quench
My deepening thirst
Only what is alone
Is my worth

Confined, in a human way
My bird, save my world!
Seize the day!
Before my love is gone

The time is already tainted
Oh, what a darkened song!

My heart will reach
The sky
Wind with the stars
Ensure no mortal cries

In desperation
Nor despair

Oh, how my love is unfair!
What I crave is far away
My bird, hasten! Do not delay!

Fly amongst my deepest wish

To feel the stars within my soul

I am the luckiest being to truly know

How to love my earthly flow

To find the endless sky
Within each and every heart

And undo our ties

" This poem was created when I merely looked out the window, felt a tug of inspiration, and let the rest flow."
