Because You Are Worth Fighting For
Words
 and everything in between.
 You're not saying
 what you mean.
 Where is the line
and when did I cross it?
 You are not something
 I can just forget.

 If I lose the key
 to my heart,
 where will we end
 and where will I start?
 One month ago.
 You began untangling yourself
 from me.

 Removing the razor wire,
 slowly.
 Painfully slow, so sharp.
Let me down easy and clean?
 Not a chance.
 I fought.

 I tried.
 I bought one more week
and I paid with my pride.
 Do you feel rich now,
holding all these tears I cried?

 I think you do.

 At least I tried.
 But to you,
 I'm simply history
 as you hold the horizon
 of being free again.
