Let Us Love
Why do our parents say
It’s so futile and juvenile
For two teenagers to fall in love?
Why can’t we?
So what if we don’t love like adults?
So what if we hold hands
To show our affection?
Who are they to say
That’s not good enough?
And why not enjoy
Whatever it is we have
While we’re young?
While we’re crazy enough
To enjoy the overwhelming lust,
When we can see each other
Every single day,
Without any real life adult problems
To deal with.
Stop telling us how we’re doomed to fail,
And let us enjoy
Whatever you won’t
Admit to be love.
