The End
You came
 With barely a whisper
 But then
 You left
 With the force
 Of a hurricane

 Which was unlike you
 Always so quiet
 And reserved
 Except
For when you were chastising me
 And at the end
 You were shouting
 More than ever
 More than anything
 You were screaming
 Your muffled cries
 That I could never
 Quite
 Hear

 And yet still
 We spoke in whispers
 To these screaming fears
 We calmed them
 Calmed ourselves
 And alone
 In the dark
 Proceeded to fall apart
 Unable to see
 Each other
 's pieces
 Broken
 And building a wall
 Between
 You
 And
 Me

 Now
 Sometimes
 I wish you were dead
 So that you wouldn't seem
 So hard
 To reach
 Sometimes
 All alone in my head
 I entertain a slight dream
 I draw the line
And I dream of crossing it

 I dream
 Of you
 Somehow coming
 Across these words
 These words
 That weren't made for breath
 I dream of this
 And yet
 I somehow hope
 That it never
 Ever
 Comes
 To be
 But please
 Lead me not
 Into temptation
I can find it on my own

 These words are meant for
 Me
 And
 Me
 Alone
 And not your hushed whispers
 Or sobbing cries
 May you choke
 On all words but these
 May I never
 Hear you
 Say them

 But still
 In this lamentation
 Of loneliness
 The silence
 Is deafening
