When you learn how to speak your mind
To be unseen
To be unheard
When all around you come to lean
When all around you appears absurd
You hold your tongue
Though there is something to say
There’s something to be done
You haven’t got all day
Close your eyes
And look inside
Pier through their lies
And say your side
Undo the zipper that sealed your words
Count up your courage
Don’t join the cowards
No, your not damage
Feel the thoughts come to life
Look at them as the find the source
They hit them like a knife
Those words caused force
They fill with shock
But you fill with hope
The words hit them like a rock
You clime higher on that rope
When you reach the top
You’ll see them standing below
You won’t shed one teardrop
As they watch you go
You’ve come a long way
You leave the others behind
You’ve caught the breeze way
You’ve learned to speak your mind.
