Eager minds,

Restless fingers,
Waiting for an end,

And a tone.
The storm is very slowly

Dying down,
Sinking away,

Time is whispering,
Ticks growing louder

Until the sound is deafening,
Heavy breathing,

Deepening boredom
Mixed with tedious moments

Of growing anxiety.
Eager minds,

Restless fingers,
At last the bell

Striking and sounding,
Signaling.

I feel exactly the same way about waiting to get out of school. Good way to describe and make a small but widely shared feeling come alive.
