She was finally back
and we were finally alone
(knitting my fingers
trying to sum up the nerve)
'I missed you, you know'
'Of course'
Oh what the hell, I thought
and fell into her
For once, she didn't object
she let me stay
silent, wrapped up, and I swear
she wanted the same thing as me
'Say it. Now' my heart was screaming
the words were hovering
just on the end of my tongue
just on the line where friendship ends. . .
but then I woke up
