I'm from the Country and I'm proud of it
I’m from potholes in the middle of the road

from white cotton dresses and cowgirl boots

from tenting and camping in the woods

from roasting marshmallows on a stick

from lying in the tall grass counting stars

from watching waves wash over the rocks

from snow storms leaving 4 feet of snow behind

from snow forts and snow ball fights

 from frostbite and pink noses

from miles and miles of trees lining roads

 from mudding, plowing, and riding

 from hills and mountains

 from fishing and hunting

from owning a gun is a necessity

from girls trading in mustangs for trucks

from eyeliner on the top lash

from skinny jeans so tight your feet go to sleep

 from bruises, scratches, and concussions

 from Timber Tina Lumberjack Shows

 from knowing everyone in town

 from Bell’s, Carter’s, and Dority’s

from tubing, swimming, hot dog eating, and laughing

I’m from the country, and I’m proud of it.
