Julie With a Music Note MAG
Dragging rolling weight
back and forth over
these same streets,
talking about overcoming defeats
but never knowing the contrary
until I would meet
Julie.
What a world that woman lives in,
who knows what
wounding wasps have stung her
and which burning ropes have hung her?
Blind as an animal with no eyes,
there is no giving her a disguise
because her chemical-caused demise
makes her loud, makes her proud
enough to make herself known
by screaming her screwed-up stories.
Unmissed by her rude psychiatrist
who dismissed her from their sessions
when all she needed was a guide
to reteach her some life lessons.
Day after day, Julie basks in her losses.
She has been given the ball again
through many throws and tosses
but she just can't seem to get it rolling.
Oh, Julie,
I truly wish I could pass some
mass toward your way,
to give you some meaning to
slow your decay
but these repeating roads
lessen my loads
of reasons
to stay here.
