Memories
Memories

Memories are links to the past.
 They remind us
 Of what once was
 Or what still might be.

 The day you realized
 You loved someone,
 And without warning
 They tore out your heart

 The years past
You were on top of the world.
 The next few
 Had you spiraling down.

 The day you were told
 That you were apart of
 Something bigger,
 Something important.

 The day when you thought
 You didn’t have
 To stand in,
 But to stand out.

 The day you were
 Nervous and anxious,
 Only to find out
 You didn’t have to be.

 The days you knew
  You were great at something
 And then went
 And did something about it.

 The day you find out
 Maybe you don’t know
 Who someone is
Until they tell you who they are.

 The day you didn’t know
You would lose the one person
You spent 9 months inside of,
The person you connected to the most.

 Memories lead you
 To other places,
 To fantasies,
 To nightmares.

 Then you come back,
 Back to reality.
 Where nothing can be repeated
 Or replaced.
