Inspiration has vacated the stems of my thought
Ideas and stories just out of my grasp.
The absence of passion has left me distraught
And my creative voice is naught but a rasp.
After weeks malnourished by pen and page
To simply compose is an arduous task
In rhythm and rhyme I've failed to engage
Intellectual views have been cleverly masked.
Gone where is my motive, my value, my drive?
All traces of zeal unintentionally lost
But if whispers of whim overcome and survive
It is time that these barriers be fervently crossed.
