Daybreak
And so the mist rises from the ground
Expelled by Sun’s first beam of light—
Dew drop wet gives over to heat of day
Resurrected form its liquid form.
Haze breaks as sun dances across the
Sky; Orange and pink clouds greet
New day. Birds swim across blue skies,
Warming up to sanguine day.
Midday approaches as Dawns has left:
The fox recedes back into his hole,
Refuge from the glaring sun—
Purple lilies wilt as stems dry out.
Boiling gas hangs over fields as
Sanctuary flees the world; Orange
Replaced with yellow, pink with red
Core boils inward out.
Sun fades into the Horizon
Demure Dusk returns, savior to the
Frail of day. Purple haze consumes
The gaze of hose below. Sweet
White roses perk, drinking in the last
Light of day.
Battle of day breaks on the Horizon
Valkyrie come to sweep the grounds.
Sun’s second self crawls across
The black cloth, nightlight to the
Sleeping world. Dreams consume
The subconscious—images of pink
Misty haze illuminate the dim night.
Mimesis holds no sway here,
Dawn returns once again.
