Waiting for June
I long for freedom
Grass between my toes
And wind running like finger though my hair
I long for happiness
The palpable warmth of the sun
Beating on my exposed shoulders
I long for freshness
Cool coastal breeze awakening my soul
Bringing salt water memories into my mind
I long for care-free being
Knowing today is whatever we make of it
Life is limitless, no barriers needed
I long for you, summer
The frostbitten December air awakens me
And my sweet dreams have dissolved
Kept fantasy for six more long months
