Eyes empty and distant
Tear stains on my cheeks
Sorrow filled memories
wishes that were bound to fade

what tender embrace
that warmth of your smile
such glorious words
those promises of love
Of happiness
Of forever

left with nothing
Waiting for your return
Trying to move on
Stuck in my dreams

the end was eminent
But it never should have come
the way we once loved
Is forever engrained
In me
