I am from
I am from a family of love and hatred
I am from a father that thinks I am a failure
I am from a mother that loves me
I am from a family that parties and struggles
I am from Philly where sirens are music to my ears
I am from Philly as a young man trying to get into a good school to succeed in life
I am from a family who argues and fights every time they get on the phone
I am from a father that loves and make’s me feel like I should not be alive
I am from a place where kids tease me of my likes and color
I am from a place where guns clang and bang and kill the sons of mothers that cry for their babies
I am from crying every time I think of grand and great grand mom and my cousin
I am from where people call me black boy in a mean way
But I am from mostly a proud black family and I am a regular kid hoping that my family would get back together the way it was when I was a baby
I am from where people do suicide all because they can’t get what they won’t
But the place I am from really from is me
 The End
