Leaf on a Tree
With one little flick, it falls
It is weak, that is clear
Breakable
With the weight of a foot, it sheers
It cannot sit still
It is stuck in the cold
It is part of the world
Yet it has no control
It is forced to change color
It is forced to grow
It is low
But it can’t say so
It feels lost in a world
Where it’s stuck to a tree
Forced to join with it
Though there’s somewhere that it’d rather be
There is someone that they’d rather be
A leaf on a tree
Maybe
I’d say it’s me
