There are some people in this world
who despise the art of music
who cling to a shady version of life
but for me
there is no life without music
It's how I breathe
the rhythm of my inhaling
the beat of my song
the notes on my lips
as we all try to sing along
that gorgeous melody that
keeps me moving through the day
the air in my lungs
the drumbeat of my heart
pounding a thundering tempo
This is how I breathe
