Forever Gone
Sunny afternoons,
 In late July,
 Watching birds fly,
 North for summer;

 I often fall into,
 A carefree state,
 Reminiscent of a child,
 Full of wonder;

 Night falls so soon,
 The chilling winds,
 And dark skies,
 Interrupt my slumber;

 And there is no room,
 For imagination,
 The child is suddenly,
 Forever hidden inside;

 And forever consumed,
 By a certain reason,
 Said to be truth,
 When all else is a lie;

 I am doomed,
 Wishing to call the birds,
 Back home, but silenced,
 By a darkened light;

 Forever gone;
