"Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul - and sings the tunes without the words - and never stops at all." - Emily Dickinson

All Hope is gone.
Stolen out from beneath us
The thief greedily placing her in his pocket
Only to slink back into obscurity.

All Hope is gone.
Her smile fading into the horizon,
Her voice singing though the birds,
Her sweet breath gently swaying the trees and calming our restless nerves.

All Hope is gone.
She stepped away from us.
She stepped into a meadow of vivid wildflowers
Where all jungles are never as green.

There she looked back once;
To see our faces
Before the mist closed it's massive hand.

All Hope is gone,
But her heart remains with us.
Hope shall never die
For she remains within each heart she has touched.

Hope is alive.
She no longer remains in our sight,
But her heart is beating inside.

So, don't despair.
Don't dishearten.
Don't lose Hope.

To my friend, acquaintance, and inspiration, who forever touched the heart of this town and all who live here.
My only Hope for you is that you are finally at rest and are happy.

Thanks. Her spirit still lives on in this town and they now even have an organization named after her (all donations go to brain cancer research).

A lovely metaphor---though Hope has been stolen away, she is not truly gone from us. I loved this~
