The Gift
You handed me a box
Wrapped with glitter paper
And a bow
"Open it!"
I was nervous, excited
(Scared?)
Of what was inside
"It's exactly what you need"
Yes, of course
(Maybe?)
I teared a piece of the paper
It crinkled, a paper song
You stared at me with anticipation
"You'll love it"
I'm sure I would
(Right?)
I opened the box
And looked for a brief second
"I knew it'd be perfect for you"
Uncertain, I blink
Hands slightly shaking
I'm not entirely sure
(Am I?)
I reach inside
And feel the ticks
of deadly bombs
Addicted to exploding
