knowing me
You asked me to tell you my story,
the twists and turns in my still young life.
You wanted to know my history
how I see the trees and the color of the sky
The paths I have chosen and why,
Look at a leaf and you will see my story
The veins and the growth from new to wise
But still you want to know who I am
Is knowing me different than knowing my name?
Labels have truth if you care enough to look
Past the shallow layer of fraud
to know me you only have to see
