Naked MAG
Today I lay myself out;
 jewelry on the wooden dresser
 hair down my spine, my mid-back
 and pieces of clothing fall like
 perfumed, innocent raindrops;
 I go to open my rib cage and
 take out my heart;
 my lungs and
 every vein, one by one
 so you can't take my breath away;
 here is my mind
 my every frightened thought
 my hopes and dreams and
 everything few and far between.
 I lay myself out;
 bare
 scared
 hopeful, but
 dreadfully aware
 that you could go
 up into smoke
 like the rabbit
 from the
 magic hat

I’m seventeen and I’m crazy. My uncle says the two always go together. When people ask your age, he said, always say seventeen and insane.
