Doves are for peace
And they know nothing
Of Owls and Crows
Who fight to kill
Who fight to preserve
Sanity
Or lack thereof.

Crows hide under slick black feathers
Wearing disdain and cleverness
As battle armor
Crows are ugly
Doves avert their eyes, out of polite
Disgust and fear
More than out of respect.

Owls are too wise
To be happy
(Unlike the Doves)
They see the Crows
For what they are
Dark
Impure
Malevolent
Cruel
They know that
The Crows' malice
Is desperate

The Crows don't want the Owls
To expose their weaknesses
Their fears
They must kill the Owls
To bury the secrets
(From the Doves)

But the Owls know of Doves, too
But the Doves are unaware
Doves are pure
Doves are happy
Ignorant fools
Innocent fools.

But the Owls know
That if the Doves and Crows
Knew the truths
And secrets of each other
The Crows and Doves would see
That they are the same bird
After all.
