I Am Rage
Tonight I sat down with you
And thought, wow, look at this mess
Look at what I was
Look at what I’ve become
Look at the change that has marked my life
I notice the tears, the marks of a knife
What was I?
What have I become?
No pausing for directions
Just keep driving ‘til it’s done
I see all the work that I’ve overcome
But I also see all the pain that I’ve caused
I feel pride in my misery
See fear deep inside of me
There’s no roadmap where I’m going
All I know is that I’m going
Never look back but always look back
And now I see
An imminent desire
The burning fire beneath all I’ve done.
