It gripped my heart
It tore me apart
It made me change
I made me excel
It made me run
It made me cry
It made me better
It made writing easier
It made lying disappear
Every night fear crept into my life
Every night fear appeared
Every night in the woods
Scared and alone
Broken and battered
Then I was rescued
All the while fear kept me alive
