a child intoxicated
i am
lightheaded with
glee—
a sweet
golden syrup flows
as a
bubbling river
it
cascades
within me
a few water droplets escape—
not as tears but as
bliss overflowing
i am holding
back a smile
that i can’t explain
as
eyes of honey ochre
are reflected
back into my own
i have indulged
before me sits
an almost-empty cask
of liquid dreams
can one become
drunk on tender happiness?
if so
excuse my debauchery
as i imbibe this
different
kind
of wine

I hope you won't mind if I comment on all of your poems :)
This one was a bit difficult to read, I think it could have used some line breaks to come across better, but the picture it conveys, and the story it tells is beautifully innocent.
