Empty Shadows

The sun slowly fades below the horizon,
The last slivers of light cast empty shadows across the frozen landscape.
The valley is peaceful and serene.
Slowly, snowflakes fall covering everything like a white, fleece blanket.
The moon rises, followed by a few stars.
Some where in the distant darkness,
A wolf howls.
Such a lonely, sad sound.
Suddenly everything fades into the darkness,
Never to be seen again.
