The Deception of joy
Fate if you have planned sorrow and misery for me
Deceive me not with momentary happiness
Ignorant of joy i shall forever remain yet content
For i will also be unaware of what i lack
Treacherous joy you tempt me with your many smiles
And i lost in its dazzle
 Was led astray
The humble path of contentment i left
And just when i thought had found you
 You vanished
I tried returning back to those old paths
But now i was no longer content with mere contentment
for joy even though you vanished
You left behind the painful awareness of what joy could have been
Take away that knowledge from me
 I do not want it
 Free my mind of it
Alas too late had i realized the bliss of ignorance
And traded off peace for that fretful joy which came only to desert me.
