Soldier, finally Home
Waiting at an airport
Waiting by a phone
Knowing the time I wait is short
Before you’re finally home
But the longer that I sit here
Time begins to drag his feet
His vision no longer clear
His mind desires sleep
Can’t see the anxious girl
Or hear the wistful sighs
He barley hears the busy world
Or sees the humans walking by
A noise sounds my eyes light
As a river of camouflage goes by
Searching hard, looking wide
To glimpse the beautiful bright blue eyes
A voice rises up my name spoken
My feet fly as time is rudely awoken
A joyful yell escapes my lips
Your warms around me
For a moment there is bliss
You shyly sneak a kiss
My soldier is home, finally.
