Now And Then
Back then, you meant something to me.
You were special to me.
You were kind,
Funny,
Sweet,
Brave,
All the things you were and that I longed to be.
You made me want to be me,
Nothing less.
I became myself,
For you,
And for me.
Back then, you were my hero.
I looked up to you,
Staring into the blue oceans of your eyes.
But now those oceans are like deserts,
Dry,
Cracked,
And lifeless.
It was all a lie.
It wasn't me you wanted,
But what I could offer.
That stung.
So is the me you inspired me to be a lie?
Id so, I'm just like you.
But now, you're just another hole in my heart,
And another meaningless face in the hallway.
