let it burn, suffering teaches the soul; let it grow, love nourishes the heart.

I remember a time when I was broken,
My very core had been destroyed, shattered,
I fell to darkness, it became my token,
I craved an evil cure; it was all that mattered,
My conscious was dead, had never spoken,
My life was pain, I was constantly battered,
I lost sight of the brightness of life,
Traveled the road that led only to hell,
I surrounded myself with hate and strife,
I plunged headfirst, thinking it would get me well,
But it only hurt me, cutting me open like a knife,
I still thought I was right; I was caught in the devils spell,
I forced myself down this path, to the point of death,
What I thought would cure me, was killing me,
I pushed myself beyond my very last breath,
Unable to see the truth, what I needed to see,
At the edge of hell, as I lay dying,
To cold to care anymore, I was found,
It was an angel, who heard my final sighing,
She cradled me in her arms, without a sound,
She saw my pain, my ravaged soul, and was crying,
As her tears feel upon me, we became bound,
Her tears were love pure and untainted,
I could feel myself changing, being healed,
I looked into her eyes, and saw a picture being painted,
It was a picture of my life, my future was revealed,
My life was newly revived, after I had fainted,
I set my course, and my future was sealed,
This angel saved my life, ended my pain,
Every time I see her, my soul cries rain,
I love my angel, my hearts greatest vein.
